Our Core Project

Improving Mental Health Through Creativity

Aim:

To give children and young people strategies to manage and improve their mental health using creative activities in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

Outcome:

Children and young people to develop their emotional literacy skills to enable them to self regulate, so they can deal with the challenges of daily life more effectively.

Sessions will focus on providing strategies to manage the following areas of emotional well being:

- Self esteem

- Self awareness

- Difficult feelings

- Resilience

Structure:

The course breaks down into four one hour sessions. Each will each introduce a new creative project which targets a specific area of emotional well-being. While these sessions can be delivered back to back in a single day it is far more effective to build in time, ideally one week, between the sessions to allow pupils to put their new skills into practice. Four to six pupils per session is ideal so for a three hour booking we may be able to see 18 pupils. As group dynamics can present a barrier to success being in school for a full morning or afternoon allows us to adapt this as required.

What the course includes:

- Time

- Travel

- Creative materials

- Certificate of achievement for each pupil

- Progress review for each pupil provided to the school or organisation

Cost:

Our school based workshops do incur a fee. We are able to work with some other organisations at greatly reduced rates as long as time permits. The fees we charge for some aspects of our work allow us to dedicate a considerable amount of time to the wealth of free resources we provide. Please contact us for pricing information and bookings.

We would like to provide these courses for private bookings. At present we are looking for a suitable, accessible venue which will allow us to keep our costs low. If you could provide us with a low cost or free venue solution in the Norwich area please email us.
